The Westfield State Dance Team is a competitive dance team at Westfield State University. WSUDT performs at Football games, Men and Women’s Basketball games, and local competitions. Annually, we compete at the UDA Regional competition in Westfield, MA and have received 1st place there for the past seven years. In addition to UDA Regionals, we travel to Orlando, Florida every January for UDA Nationals and compete with a dance choreographed by Reggie McCormick. This past year at UDA Nationals we were awarded 6th place in the open division finals that consisted of 22 teams.

This year at UDA Nationals we will be performing two dances, both Hip Hop and Jazz. 2017 Nationals will be our first year competing in the Open Jazz Division with Choreography done by Zach Galasso, a Hofras Dance Team captain and Alumni

 

Our team consists of about 22 women. We have tryouts at the end of the spring semester and at the beginning of the fall semester every year. We practice 3-4 times a week with extra required practices for games and competitions.

 

Our coach is Alia Desrosiers Camerota. Alia has been coaching this team for the past 10 years, when the team was first created.
